Using Area Rugs to Cover Floor Imperfections
If you have floor imperfections in your home, you would definitely want to correct them. But what if you do not have the time or the money to make such a change in the floor? What if you have a cracked tile in the kitchen but do not have the money for a new floor? What if you have scratches in the hardwood floor or stains on the wall to wall carpet but cannot make the repairs? And what if the property is rented and not even yours to repair?
The best solution to all of the above problems is to use area rugs. Area rugs will cover imperfections on the floors as well as the walls. They are the one cure fix for just about anything that is wrong with your house and best of all; they do not come off like a cover up. On the contrary, area rugs give your house a touch of class.
Using area rugs on wood floors – If you have wood floors that are scratched and need to be refinished but do not have the time or the money to do so, or do not want to do so because you do not own the apartment, then you can use area rugs. They are ideal in that they will not only cover up the scratches, but will also look good on the floor. You will want to put down a special guard so that the area rug does not slip when you use it on a wooden floor, unless, of course, it is very large and heavy. In such a case, a guard is not necessary.
Using area rugs on carpeting- Just because you have wall to wall carpeting is no reason not to use area rugs. Wall to wall carpeting is nice but plain. A colorful rug on the other hand, can make a room that is carpeted look even cozier. It will also add color to the room, making it look brighter and more cheerful. While you might not want to choose a color for your wall to wall carpeting because it is better off neutral, you can add color to the floor with a beautiful rug.
Using area rugs on tile – When you use area rugs on tile, to cover up stains on tile, imperfections, poor tiling jobs or just because you want to break up the starkness of the tile, you should use a guard that goes under the rug and prevents it from moving. This is especially important if you have children who may be in the habit of running from room to room. These guards will keep the rug in place.
If you want to cover floor imperfections in a house that you own or do not own, one way to do so cheaply is to use area rugs. They never look as though they are being used to cover up an imperfection in the carpeting and usually look very stylish and add a decorative touch to any home.
Home Design has never been so affordable with these red rugs.
