Orientation Essay – Ferns and More
If you would like to add some artificial trees or plants to your home, you can do so in one of two ways. Many people find their favorite plant, purchase it, and then rearrange the set-up of the room in a way that flatters and provides space for the plant. Other people decide exactly where in their home they need some greenery, and then look for a plant that fits the size and style needed. In any case, if you are looking to fill a small location with a good eye-catching plant, you should look at the enormous selection of ferns available. The nature of the fern makes it a natural choice for smaller areas due to its fine, tiny leafage and ability to fill the space it is given as it matures. You can find a great selection of ferns, both real and silk. Live ferns need less sunlight and water than some other plants, and so you are less limited in terms of where you can place them. Even more easy to maintain and care for are silk plants. Unlike flowers, ferns do not naturally draw the attention of the eye but work well as backdrops to other home decor items. Using a flower display in tandem with a few ferns can have a very attractive effect.
Benefits of the Bamboo Plant
Few plants are as high in demand as the bamboo. Not only are there many diverse and beautiful arrangements for the bamboo, but it also is quite resilient. The plant’s ability to flourish even when watered infrequently make it a great selection for a number of settings. This resilience has even given rise to the rumor that the plant will not die unless someone has been disloyal to you. Bamboo is now often used in silk flower arrangements because of its complex and glamorous appearance. Make sure you place your bamboo plant in an area with adequate room: you will want guests to see its elegant trunk, and you may need to leave room for the bamboo to get taller. Also, the bamboo leaves are very large and will require extensive cleaning, particularly if you own a silk plant. You will not regret your decision to decorate with bamboo!
Silk Plants versus Real Plants
If you are planning to add some greenery to your home, consider whether you want them to be live or silk. Each choice has positives and negatives. When considering real plants, you want to make sure that the plant can get sunlight and water. Also, bugs are sometimes drawn to live plants. An advantage to live plants is the green thumb you develop as you care for them and watch them grow. Silk or artificial plants are great for storage when you are not using them, such as wreaths or seasonal items. They also are lighter and easier to move. The biggest factor to look at is how “life-like” it appears. Artificial plants can be beautiful, but if it is obvious that they are not real, they lose some of their charm. The “clearly fake” look can be quite unattractive.
Silk Garden Online offers a great selection of silk flowers. Including flower arrangements, silk roses, tulips, orchids, and more.
