Decorating in the Snow Season

It is cold and snowy outside and you want the room to have a little change. It is too early to put spring flowers out, and all the Christmas decorations are put away. Use light colors to decorate the room. Add some light colored pillows to the sofa and chair. Throw a blanket on the furniture that is a light color. This will keep you warm while you watch it snow. Add a floor lamp by the chair to add light to the room when the sun goes down early. Bring in some silk flower that will work year round. Bring in a bunch of roses.

These are great to accent the holiday or to just look beautiful. Bring in a potted plant to add a little life into the room. Plants are a great item to freshen up a room during the winter. Make sure that the leaves are dusted and bright. It also helps a room when you take down the drapes.

Now if you live in town and need the privacy, you would not want to do that, but if you live out in the country, it will let a lot of light into the room and warm you up. Another thing to do in the living room during the cold season is to move the furniture around. Change the angle of the sofa and put the chair on the other side of the room. Just a few changes will make a big difference. You are stuck in the house a lot more when the weather is cold and snowy, make it look like a new room. This is a great time to put the TV on the other wall or put a different rug down. Lighting candles in the winter is also relaxing. Candle will help you relax and let go of stress. Candles also will let off a light sent in a room and will also help you relax. Turn off the lights and light a set of candles and the room will feel very comfortable.
