So there’s lots of choice. Some policies even provide protection for kennel fees, or boarding fees if you become ill or even pay your cancellation fee for your holiday if your pet becomes ill before you travel.

Our advice is to look at several pet insurance web sites. Better still, print off their schedule of benefits and terms and conditions. Then spend forty minutes comparing their premiums and look closely at what you’ll get for your money. We know it’ll be a bore but a little extra effort now will be rewarded with a great deal and your peace of mind.

Medieval clothing begins with the fall of the Western Roman Empire in AD 476. It is the transition from classical to medieval clothing. Both sexes of the upper class were a tunic as the basic garment. Men wore breeches or trousers, a tunic with a silk and brightly colored border, and a cloak. Ladies wore a long tunic put on over the head and also a super tunic word over it. It was attached to a girdle to show the tunic beneath it. The super tunic had some design on the neck, sleeves, and hem. Then the women would place a cloak on that is fastened below the chin. The cloaks were usually full length and had a cloth veil to conceal the hair. These were the basics of the medieval customs.

After the first Crusade, which was in 1095, the clothing begun to change. It was here that early touches of the gothic area and Romanesque showed. Many of the clothing at this time were styled after Spain and France. After the Crusades began, women began to wear silk, satin, damasks, brocades, and velvet. They were brighter colors and more detailed weaves. This was the time that wood-blocking printing was adopted and buttons were added to many pieces of clothing. Even though the fitted tunic was the basics for the apparel of both sexes during this time, the accessories would make the outfits. Many women and men were wearing clothing with embellishments like jewels, added embroidery, and fur. This was also the time that wool or linen hose took place of trousers. You could tell the difference of class on how a man’s breeches were cut. The wealthy were cut narrower and if you were a labor they will fuller and both class’s breeches were cross-gartered below the knee.

But over time the tunic was replaced by a bliaut. This tight lacing formed a woman’s shape and girdled the hips. It was to make to create a long-waisted appearance. Men’s medieval clothing changed in the next period. The length and fullness of the clothing would change considerably. The hood or cloak became more like jacket than a piece of the outfit and it would become eventually a shorter, cape style.

The History of the T-Shirt

The history of the T-shirt is replete with origin myths. In one sense, T-shirts — lightweight undergarments designed to be worn in hot or extremely temperate conditions — have been around for thousands of years. Archaeological evidence suggests that laborers in ancient Egypt wore a kind of “T-shirt,” and anthropologists and clothing historians can point to many similar garments throughout history.

Last Century

The modern incarnation of the T-shirt originated sometime between the late-19th and mid-20th century. Some Anglophiles remain convinced that the English were the first to design the T-shirt in around 1880. In any case, by the turn of the century, many clothiers in Europe had picked up on the trend.

United States citizens first became aware of the existence of “light cotton undergarments” during World War I, after American soldiers saw their European counterparts wearing them. Members of the US Navy at that time were required to wear heavy wool uniforms, which were incredibly uncomfortable during the hot European summers.

The US Navy’s claim that it introduced the first T-shirt to America in 1913 is not unchallenged. Many believe that a man named Howard Jones engineered the first “true T-Shirt,” an absorbent athletic garment designed for athletes on the University of Southern California football squad.

The moviegoing public was stunned in 1934 when Clark Gable appeared in the Oscar winning film, It Happened One Night, wearing his slacks with just a T-shirt. With Claudette Colbert in the same motel room, albeit behind a flimsy hanging-sheet “wall,” it was too much for some moralizers, who quickly instituted censorship via a movie rating “commission.”

In World War II, the T-shirt soared to new heights of popularity. Somewhat ironically, photos of American soldiers doing labor in T-shirts glamorized the garments. Shortly after the war ended, in 1948, presidential challenger Thomas Dewey used a massive T-shirt campaign to advocate for his candidacy. Four years later, general Dwight D. Eisenhower also employed a T-shirt campaign (“I like Ike!”) to generate interest. Around this time, American icons like James Dean, John Wayne and Marlon Brando “shockingly” wore T-shirts both in public and in their TV and film appearances. These cultural moments paved the way for a broad new popular appreciation of the T-shirt.

Modern History

In the 1960s and 1970s, the counterculture movement claimed the T-shirt as a symbol of its rebellion. So-called “tie dyed” T-shirts became the rage; screen printing and other home design techniques also empowered people to tailor their own T-Shirt messages. Professional designers expanded the form as well, offering alternative cuts and styles, such as the scoop neck, tank top, and V-neck.

By the 1980s, the T-shirt had solidified its place as a defining garment of a generation. Counterculture figures galore embraced the T-shirt and made it a staple of the American wardrobe. Rock bands, political activists, and other iconic figures of the Vietnam and Woodstock generation all helped cement the T-shirt’s cultural position in the pantheon of native dress.

In the 1990s, the T-shirt evolved further as a social phenomenon. So-called “joke T-shirts” became prominent. Many such shirts included bawdy jokes, lewd plays on words, and the like. At the same time, top-tier designers were reinventing the form as a luxury garment.

By the turn of the 21st century, designers like Diesel and Versace were selling ultra high-end T-shirts for hundreds of dollars. What’s more, during the first decade of the 21st century, we have seen an increasing trend towards proliferation of independent labels. Thus, the T-shirt marketplace has become more variegated than ever. Traditional T-shirt manufacturers, like Jockey, Heinz, and Calvin Klein, continue to produce millions of standard undergarments every year. Simultaneously, medium and high-end designers evolve their own takes on the concept.

Where did the actual word “T-shirt” come from? The answer to this riddle is a matter of debate. Conventional wisdom suggests that the name comes from the shape of the shirt on the body. However, some believe that “T” in “T-shirt” comes from the last syllable of the word “amputee.” The idea behind this theory is that T-shirts with short sleeves resemble the bodies of amputees. Finally, some believe that the “T” is short for “training.” Given the military origins of the garment, there is some at least anecdotal support for this idea.

Future of the T-shirt

How the T-shirt concept will evolve in the future is anyone’s guess. One trend which many marketers point to is America’s increasing desire for “mass customization.” Society demands more and more mass-produced commodities — like T-shirts — but our increasingly individualistic culture simultaneously urges us towards customization. We are long overdue for a remake of 1980′s Urban Cowboy. That’s right, Urban Cowboy, cowboy boots on city streets, and all. It’s not that the movie is a classic or anything; though it has plenty of good scenes, thanks in part to the western wear-enhanced style of John Travolta and Debra Winger; we need that movie to come re-ignite western apparel mania. Seriously.

You will recall, or learn right now if you have yet to see the movie, that a young John Travolta plays country boy Bud, who has turned a stay in Houston at his uncle’s into a full blown move to the city. Bud trades in his cowboy boots for refined boots when he gets hired where his uncle works. He spends his nights dressed to impress in his best western wear, two-steppin’ and drinking at Gilly’s. That, of course, is where he meets up with Sissy, played by Debra Winger looking all the hot little lady in her finest western apparel and smile. Sissy and Bud date, fall in love, and get married, a bit quickly. Then things get messy as they add a former convict, some burglary plans, and the infamous electric bull to the action. No need to wear my cowboy boots thin by trudging through the whole story, get it on Netflix and enjoy. What’s important here is how downright fashionable western wear can be; think of those denim-clad ladies, and the cowboy boots and hats on men and women alike.

Back in 1980 when Urban Cowboy first came out, it kicked off a western wear craze. All of a sudden everyone on the whole east coast had a pair of cowboy boots, classic point-backed western wear style shirt, stove pipe tight jeans and a cowboy hat, men and women alike. Many scenesters had custom cowboy boots made. Every high school had boys wishing they could ride an electric bull, and girls learning to Texas Two Step, and suddenly teachers were asking students to take off their cowboy hats inside, rather than ball caps. There’s been enough of the hip hop influenced baggy pant fashion scene of late; it is past time for western wear to again have a turn in the popularity spotlight. Imagine going down to your typical mall, say in Atlanta, and seeing stores selling western apparel. Maybe young kids would learn how to wear their pants properly if they had more exposure to western style jean wear!

If you have access to any Hollywood or independent filmmakers, tell them it’s time for a western apparel revival and that it is their responsibility to pull up their cowboy boot straps and ride the electric bull of re-making Urban Cowboy. We deserve to have our current fashion enhanced and few things can influence popular trends the way movies and entertainers do. Think of it, Little John in cowboy boots, crunking the country rap and Andre 3000 in a point-back shirt and cowboy hat Outkast-ing his hip hop country hits! Well, maybe we won’t go that far…let’s just start with the Urban Cowboy remake!

5. Oiling

This treatment process of oiling is normally used Emerald. Colorless oil is used for this purpose. This oil is used in cutters as lubricant. This oil reaches inside

the holes & cracks of the Emerald. That is why oil is applied to complete the refinement process.

Also Oiling is applied to keep the quality of gemstone.

6. Filling

The general meanings of Filling are to fill some hollow space with some filler. Similarly in during Filling some other materials are put into hollow spaces. E.g. glass, plastic and some other stuff is used to fill out the holes on the gemstones surface.
